Ascorbic Acid

It is a sugar acid that has antioxidant properties and it is water-soluble. The L-enantiomer of ascorbic acid is commonly known as vitamin C.  This acid appears in the form of a white to yellowish crystal or powder.

Ascorbic Acid Properties:

  • Helps the production of collagen
  • Helps fight infections.
  • Needed to develop and maintain healthy teeth, bones, gums, cartilage, skin and blood vessels.
  • Helps regulate cholesterol levels
  • Vitamin C is responsible for helping to build and maintain cellular tissues and to strengthen the immune system.
